NPIP is a cloud based application software developed by NIC as a Digital Initiative of India by Department of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & IT, Government of India. It is an easy to use graphical interfaceand embedded with comprehensive security features. This is a unified and centralized application and can be easily implemented in any Government offices / Ministries / Bhawans with minimum customization efforts. It assists in maintaining all-relevant information about the visitor, which is automatically saved in a database. This application is integrated with visitors’ Aadhaar card facility. NPIP can ve used by any Stake holder of Criminal Justice System across the country. This platform is being provided on an "as per the information updated the prisons.

Description of Service

NPIP is a platform for sharing Prison Inamte data with the stakeholders of Criminal Justice System. The services provided on the platform include inmate locator and look out alerts etc

Using NPIP, Visitor Registration, Grievance Registration and its Status

Access to NPIP is public. Anyone can regiter his/her visit request, grievance and nation wide anonised data about inmate data which can be drilled down to indivual prison.

NPIP does not actively pre-screen content, but it reserves the right to refuse or remove any content or account that in its sole discretion is found to be unlawful, offensive, threatening, promoting violence, defamatory, pornographic, or violating NPIP's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct or violating any other user or party's intellectual property rights.

Limitation of Liability

NPIP does not guarantee that the platform shall meet any specific requirements, or that it will be available uninterrupted, or that it is secure, encrypted and error-free, or that the results obtained using the platform will be accurate or reliable, or that the quality of any products, services, information available on the platform will meet user expectations.

Users expressly understand and agree, that in no event will the Government of India be liable for any expense, loss or damage including, without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any expense, loss or damage whatsoever arising from use, or loss of use, of data, arising out of or in connection with the use of NPIP.

Right to Modify or Terminate

NPIP reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part of it), with or without notice. NPIP in its sole discretion reserves the right to suspend or terminate any user account and refuse any current or future use of the platform for any reason at any time. Such termination may result in the deactivation or deletion of the account, and the loss of all the content hosted therein.

Applicable Law

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the Indian Law. Any dispute arising under these terms and conditions shall be subjected to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
